reawakening

So, I know I've been a little neglectant. To be honest I went on a picture taking hiatus. Judging by the looks of my photos you probably wouldn't think so, but none-the-less, it was one. I felt like I was in a sort of slump, somewhat uninspired. Partly because I've been so busy and partly because I was just wanting to enjoy moments with my kids. I've just been loving Jeff at home lately and I feel like I don't want to miss him. miss any moment of him. He has the mood swings of a teenage girl and a major sweet tooth, but mostly I just call him my squishy. It's really the best word for him. squishy. His hair is so soft and his laugh is so contagious.

 They had these story times down at discovery green where they gave you a TON of free stuff. Jeff's favorites were probably the train ride and

 ... definitely kayaking. It was such a cool experience for us to have together. I have to admit that Aria's been a little jealous. I feel bad for her, but I would have done these things with her too. I hope they're still around in the summer.

 The month of October was a big month for trying new things, especially for Aria. She conquered her fear of going past the first monkey bar. I'd say now she's officially a 'monkey'.
 She also climbed lots of trees and loved spending time at the park.
 So sweet.
 To help me get out of my photography slump I decided to go out and have fun... just the 3 of us... and my remote.
 This is what happens when I tell them to pose. I love the 'booty-tooch' on Aria. haha.

I've been inspired by my friend. She's had a rough couple of months. Even though the challenges I've had are infinitely smaller than hers, somehow I feel connected to her.  Her challenge started like this: "Last night was a hard night to fall asleep. {a little touch of sunshine}

Just there... on the top of his head... making his blonde hair look even blonder.... And that quirky smile. And the drool. And those big beautiful hazel eyes where I can't ever figure out what color they are. I know he's doing something mischievous. Look at that sparkle in his eyes... definitely mischievous. {innocent wonder}

One of the things that makes children so wonderful, is that they are so curious about the world. How would it be to wonder so much about the world that you stick anything and everything in your mouth, just to see what it tasted like. I love when babies are this age. They have a wonderful curiosity, a love of life and big eyes full of wonder. What I wouldn't give to put myself in their shoes and really appreciate life for what it is. Toes, for the way they're shaped to support my body. The joy I can get from just being outside in a wonderful body in a wonderful world.
